I started guitar lessons at age 11, bought my first bass guitar at 13, and started playing local Niagara Falls bars and dances at 14. Music was my income source until 1978 when it took a back seat to a career and starting a family. I did manage to get a BS in computers along the way. Computers provided for me and my family for the next 37 years. That career included speaking on technology in 24 countries and 48 States, publishing over 5 dozen articles and 9 books, and editing another 2 dozen books on database technology. Of course, my greatest accomplishment during that time were my two daughters and 4 grandchildren.

I still found a little time to perform my music during that time. However, when I came close to retirement, music became a full-time thing again. Today, I play gigs around the greater Houston area and do studio recording with a local band, play the occasional open mic when time allows, I provide bass lines to musicians all over the world to use in songs they are producing, and I supply bass for artists who do not have full-time bass players at one of the local Houston recording studios.

My personal website’s first paragraph says it best; “I’m passionate about family, music, cars, the mainframe, and especially about DB2. I thrive on sharing what I have learned over the years, solving technical problems, and learning and messing with the latest technology…”
